Located midway between New York City and Miami, the Wilmington, NC area is easy to get to from just about anywhere. There are daily connecting flights to the New Hanover International Airport, 2½ miles north of Wilmington, via US Air (through Charlotte), Midway Airlines (through Raleigh/Durham) and Atlantic Southeast Airlines (a Delta connection through Atlanta). All major rental car agencies are available at the airport, as well as taxi and limousine service. If you're traveling by car, the Wilmington area is directly accessible from Interstate 40, which links to Interstate 95, 85 and 77. You can also reach Wilmington from US 17, 74 and 421. Prefer to leave the driving to someone else? The Wilmington bus terminal provides service through both Greyhound, Inc. and Carolina Trailways. For getting around town, the Wilmington Transit Authority offers several convenient routes each day. |
